VENARIA. The electoral campaign in Venaria is heating up more and more. Yesterday, the Democratic Party candidate Fabio Tumminello posted the message “Salvini hanged” on his Instagram profile. Obviously, all hell broke loose. “The Democratic Party, in Venaria, sincere people who offend and incite violence”, is the clear position of Andrea Cerutti, vice president of the Lega group in the regional council and secretary of the city section of the Northern League. «This type of action – continues Cerutti – has nothing to do with political confrontation. We are sure that the Venariesi do not want to be represented by characters like this, capable only of fomenting hatred and riding ignorance because they do not have their own ideas. “Our hope – concludes the Northern League – is that, with Sunday’s vote, this figure can be excluded from the management of public affairs. Our city deserves something more, it deserves a representation worthy of the role it is called upon to fulfill.
“It was an ironic post”
The Democratic Party recently distanced itself. “As specified by the candidate himself, the post was intended to be ironic, but the initial irony has turned into an unfortunate joke that does not reflect the values of our party,” write the leaders of the Democratic Party. “The Democratic Party, in fact, always he has proposed to “lower the tone” and maintain a level of civil and positive political debate, for the good of our city and its citizens. We apologize, also on behalf of our candidate, to anyone who has been offended by this externalization and we are also sure of his good faith, knowing his exuberance, but also his gentle and absolutely peaceful character. An error dictated by his young age that he fully recognized and for which he has already declared himself repentant, promptly withdrawing the publication from social networks ”.

The center-right candidate’s response: “Let’s lower the tone for the good of the city.”
Here is the reply letter from Fabio Giulivi, candidate in Venaria for the center-right «Many journalists ask me for a position on the candidate of Fr Venariese who published a photo with the inscription Salvin i hanging. Of course, I express my solidarity with the allies attacked in this way.
Personally, I don’t know this candidate well. They tell me that he often posted goliardic or satire posts directed at me, but he never created any problems for me because I think it’s part of the “game”.
Although I do not know him, I think that like many, unfortunately he got carried away by social networks giving a different image than he really is. He has posted a certainly serious image, which does not help the climate we are trying to maintain, but we must immediately think about Venaria and its many problems.
From the beginning I asked, asked and kept my tone low in this electoral campaign. Many have asked me to attack my opponents hard but I preferred to focus on the proposals and not on the insults.
People are tired of fights, fights, flying rags. We are coming out of one of the most difficult moments in our history between health problems and financial problems. Whoever wins the elections will have to climb a mountain and, as I have always said, collaboration with the opposition will also be necessary, respecting differences and democratic confrontation.
I am sure that all the candidates in this election only want the good of Venaria, beyond labels and political divisions.
Experienced politics as soccer fans have never helped run a city.
Let’s take good advantage of these last days to talk about proposals and not insults ».
