There are 61 new positives in the last 24 hours in Sicily, 17 more than yesterday. This is what the newsletter of the Ministry of Health reports. It should be noted that the swabs performed (2726) are slightly more than half those of the previous day (4002). Then tampons decrease and unfortunately new infections increase.

Of the 61 only three are migrants: two in Ragusa and one in Syracuse. The new positives are divided into provinces: 2 in Agrigento, 26 in Catania, 2 in Enna, 25 in Palermo, 2 Ragusa and 4 Siracusa.

Currently the positives are 1793 of which 120 are hospitalized, 17 in intensive care and 1656 in home isolation. The cured amount to 3,158 while the deceased are 290, although this last number, inevitably, will be destined to increase due to the victims registered in the last hours in the Cervelló and Villa Sofía hospitals and that have not yet been reported in the bulletin. For now, the only victim confirmed by the Region is a 56-year-old man from S. Agata Li Battiati, who died in intensive care at the Messina Polyclinic, where he had been hospitalized for about 2 months.

Slight drop in infections in the rest of Italy compared to Saturday: 1,458 new cases of coronavirus have been found in the last 24 hours, bringing the total since the start of the emergency to 287,297. However, the decline is affected by the lower number of swabs made: about 20,000 fewer than yesterday (72,143 versus 92,706). Seven are the victims in one day, for a total of 35,610 while there is no region without new cases.

The total discharged / cured is 213,634 (+443), while the total current positives is 38,509 (+1,006). Currently 2,042 patients are hospitalized with symptoms, 187 (+5) of these are in intensive care, while 36,280 people are in home isolation. The regions where the highest number of new cases have been registered in the last 24 hours are Lombardy (265), Emilia-Romagna (143), Lazio (143), Veneto (143) and Campania (122).
