Caivano, Maria Paola Gaglione died for being gay, attacked by her brother

The first news on Saturday spoke of a twenty-two-year-old girl who died the night before because she had lost control of the scooter in Caivano (Naples), perhaps due to a pirate, and another person on board was injured. The carabinieri investigations have brought to light a chilling truth. To attack the motorcycle driven by Maria Paola Gaglione would have been her brother Antonio, 25 years old. He would chase her to punish her because he couldn’t bear her having a stable relationship with another woman, who was with her on the scooter.

Reconstruction

Antonio Gaglione would have used his own scooter to ram his sister’s, who after the impact ended up against a field fence. María Paola hit a pipe in an irrigation system and would have died instantly. Her brother would not have cared for her but would have thrown himself on the injured comrade. Detained by the carabinieri from the Acerra barracks, he reportedly told the military, according to the morning: I did shit. I did not want to kill anyone, but to teach my sister a lesson and especially to whoever “infected” my sister who has always been “normal”.
