A tragedy that occurred in a few minutes. When his wife saw the signaling balloon move, she immediately raised the alarm.
It was 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, when a boat from Toscolano Maderno, on Lake Garda, sounded the alarm. To ask for help is a woman and two children, the wife and two 41-year-old children of EM, who live in the province of Bergamo.
The Coast Guard arrived at the scene and the woman said that her husband had dived into the water with a wetsuit, fins and a speargun.
The 41-year-old had surfaced to secure a freshly caught fish to the flare balloon, to which the diver was attached with a cord. Then he dived a second time. The ball moved, as if it had been thrown: perhaps that was the moment when he felt bad and clung to the rope, yanking it from the ball.
The corpse was recovered at the bottom of the sea at a depth of 28 and a half meters and the causes of death are probably due to illness.
Searches and recovery were made possible by the Coast Guard and Salò firefighters. Also on site are divers from the Volunteers of the Garda dive team.
