Vaccine tests developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford following the green light from the British health authority. The trials of coronavirus vaccine, one of the most advanced in the world, had been blocked after one of the participants from the UK had a serious adverse reaction.

COVID-19 Vaccine, AstraZeneca Testing Resumed
On Tuesday, after a participant exhibited neurological symptoms consistent with a rare disease called transverse myelitis, the Phase 3 test about the COVID-19 vaccine were arrested immediately.
The news had thrown despair, because the Oxford and AstraZeneca is one of the preparations most advanced in the world.
On Saturday night, September 12, the company said it had received clearance from the UK health authority to resume testing. AstraZeneca said that “the standard review process had induced a voluntary pause” of all testing on September 6. The independent commissions reviewed the data and announced that it was safe to resume rehearsals.
In all likelihood, the UK must have found no correlation between the disease and the possible vaccine.
The University of Oxford has said that, to date, approx. 18,000 people were tested.
“In large trials like this, it is normal for some participants to become ill and each case must be carefully evaluated to ensure safety arrangements,” the university said in a statement.

“There is a protocol to follow when something happensSwaminathan explained. “If it is a mild side effect, you need to do a few things. If it is serious, and this was serious, the tests should be stopped. It’s a standard procedure. And it’s good practice, because safety is the top priority in any clinical trial.”Added the scientist.
