BOLZANO – A 35-year-old mountaineer from South Tyrol fell and died today, September 12, during the rise of the Sciliar, in South Tyrol. The rope did not withstand the impact and the climber is like this precipitated by 200 meters, dying instantly. The victim is a 35-year-old South Tyrolean woman who was climbing with his partner up the ‘Spigolo del Castelletto’, when at about 2,400 meters above sea level, near the exit of the route, he lost his grip and fell. The rope broke and the woman fell into a ravine, dying instantly.

The alarm was given by the 48-year-old climbing partner. When the Siusi mountain rescue arrived on the scene with the aid of the Aiut Alpin Dolomites helicopter rescue, the emergency medic could not help but determine the death.
