Florence, September 11, 2020 – At the Tuscany southeast (provinces of Arezzo, Grosseto me Siena) in the last 24 hours there have been 21 new cases of positivity at coronavirus.
In the province of Arezzo there are ten cases, all in home isolation. Three have symptoms: they are 46 years old and 17 years old Sansepolcro and a 67 year old man Castel Focognano, who were already in solitary confinement because they were contacts of a previously identified case. Here’s the importance of quarantine for those who have been in contact with a person who later tested positive: they probably avoided infecting other people.
Everyone else except a 34-year-old from Castiglion Fiorentino that he was already in isolation and that he is paucisymptomatic, instead he is asymptomatic: he is a 45-year-old person Arezzo, an 18-year-old from Bibbiena, a 34 year old Castiglion Fiorentino, a 43 year old Chiusi della Verna, 15 years and 28 years of Poppi, 30 years of Sansepolcro. They were all already in solitary confinement.
In the province of Grosseto there are four new cases registered: all of them were also already in home isolation. This is a 31-year-old from Mountain Argentario returned from Romania, asymptomatic; of a 12 year old boy Orbetello paucisymptomatic; from a symptomatic 62 year old from Orbetello, from a 60 year old Roccastrada returned from Romania, asymptomatic.
In the province of Siena there are six new cases and all were already isolated. Here, unlike Arezzo and Grosseto, the number of positives with symptoms increases: there are three people from Poggibonsi (38 years, 32 years and 5-year-old girl) and 49 years of Montepulciano. On the other hand, a 27-year-old is asymptomatic Siena and a 19-year-old from Rapolano Terme, returned from Albania.
INCREASE OF CONTROLS – The Prevention Department, considering the cases that have arisen in recent days in the province of Arezzo, Grosseto and Siena, has intensified the activity of follow up close contacts. Thus, 29 close contacts of these cases were immediately identified and quarantine was initiated for them: 9 contacts for the Arezzo cases, 7 contacts for the Grosseto cases, 13 contacts for the Siena cases.
At this time, 2,254 people from the Local Health Authority of Southeast Tuscany are already in home isolation, either because they are a known case contact or because they come from other countries.
There are seven hospitalized in Infectious Diseases at the Misericordia Hospital in Grosseto, nine in Infectious Diseases and one in Intensive Care at the San Donato Hospital in Arezzo. Case identification and contact tracing was possible by performing 1,681 swabs.
