It is not always possible to access the pension with only 15 years of contributions: let’s see who falls within the 3 exceptions provided by the Amato law of 1992.
Hello, my question is the following: I have completed the required 15 years and I left my service on February 15, 1993, can I take advantage of the pension exemption? Someone tells me that unfortunately having worked even for a short period of 93 I missed this opportunity, I would like your kind opinion, thank you.
Unfortunately, what they tell you is true: the first exception of Amato provides for the possibility of accessing the old-age pension with only 15 years of contributions, instead of the 20 years normally required, to those who have accrued all their contributions at 31 December 1992.
In your case, having worked until February 15, 1993, there is no possibility of accessing the pension with 15 years of contributions.
In any case, there are two other exceptions provided by the Amato Law of 1992 that allow retirement with 15 years of contributions and provide that:
- Those who have requested and obtained authorization for voluntary continuation at the end of 1992 can access the old-age pension with 15 years of contributions (even if the voluntary contributions in question have never been paid)
- Those who paid the first contribution at least 25 years before accessing the pension can access the old-age pension with 15 years of contributions and can claim at least 10 years contributions paid less than 52 weeks per year (discontinued careers enhancement).
