The commissioner for the Covid-19 emergency, Domenico Arcuri, announced that all Italian schools will receive surgical masks on Monday 14.
The special commissioner reassures families and school leaders and make it clear: “No school is without surgical masks. All students, all teaching staff, and all non-teaching staff will have a free surgical mask every day. In fact, 41 million surgical masks have already reached institutes of all types and levels ”.
“Another 77 million will arrive on Monday the 14th, enough for two more weeks of lessons – underlines the Commissioner – Then 16 million children’s masks will be distributed in primary schools, again next Monday, enough to ensure the safe reopening of these institutions as well. The distribution of free masks to students and school staff will then continue on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, depending on the size of the student population. No school is or will be without surgical masks ”.
