Davide Astori, investigations closed due to false medical certificate: three suspects

The Florence Prosecutor’s Office has closed the second file of investigations into the death of Davide asori, the captain of Fiorentina found dead on March 4, 2018 in a hotel room in Udine, where he was in retreat with the team on the eve of the match against the Friulian team. In this line of investigations against three suspects, the crime of false material has been hypothesized the alleged falsification of a medical report which determined a phantom cardiological exam, tension, in the player.

The report produced later

For the prosecutor Antonino Nastasi, in fact, that examination would never have been carried out and the report falsely certifying it would have been produced later. The conclusion notes of the investigations were delivered to Professor Giorgio Galanti, then Medical Director of Sports Medicine at Careggi University Hospital, Pietro Amedeo Modesti, who succeeded him, and to the sports doctor Loira Toncelli.
