SUSA (TURIN). A 46-year-old Peruvian resident in Lower Valsusa placed under house arrest by the carabinieri will have to answer for attempted murder because she was responsible for making an 88-year-old caregiver drink car antifreeze fluid, for economic reasons.

The investigation, coordinated by the Turin Prosecutor’s Office, began in June 2019 when the old man was hospitalized in serious condition for having ingested engine antifreeze, mistaken for a drink in a bottle. The man had been accompanied to the hospital by the caregiver and had been hospitalized for a long period with a guarded prognosis, and only recently was he able to resume normal lifestyle habits.

Based on the researchers’ findings, the reason would be related to economic issues. Specifically, in 2016 the woman accompanied the elderly person to a notary, inducing him to give him the mere ownership of their home free of charge, without the elderly having understood the nature of that act and without informing the support administrator of whom the elderly person was assisted. . Fearing that she would lose possession of the property after the support administrator appealed against the provision and fear that the elder would back down from the sale, the woman would have thought of poisoning to resolve the case in her favor.
