The dott.ssa Stefania magni is the owner of the Allum di Merate company who explains how the idea was born: “We have been manufacturing lighting systems for 40 years, at the beginning of the year we were designing lamps that could disinfect environments from the Covid-19 virus, but I realize that it became too long and expensive. During the confinement we asked ourselves how we could help the country to return to normalcy as quickly as possible, so we began to study together with Pasquale Vito, Professor of Genetics at the University of Sannio, and the university spin-off Genus Biotech of which he is president, this daily swab with a fast result and now in just three minutes we know if a person is positive or negative for Covid. It is a very easy to use product, it is like a pregnancy test, we have tested it on a considerable sample of people and we have passed all the tests of the Ministry of Health, now we can go into production. We buy the machinery, we can guarantee the production of 20 million pieces per year. In addition, we wanted to contain the costs so that anyone could buy it: from large organizations to the single person who, for example, keeps it at home and uses it if they have to let a stranger into the family ”.
