A new rapid test arrives, all Italian, capable of telling in just 3 minutes if you are positive or not for the Sars-Cov-2 coronavirus from saliva. It’s called Daily Tampon and it was created by a Brianza company in Merate (Lecco) in collaboration with the University of Sannio. The test has received the approval of the Ministry of Health and therefore production can begin.
Experts look at this type of test with enthusiasm and attention, which, if reliable, could be of great help in delicate sectors such as, for example, schools, as Eleonora Lalle, managing biologist of the Virology Laboratory, explained a few days ago to Corriere from the Lazzaro Spallanzani National Institute of Infectious Diseases: Saliva collection would be an easier and less invasive collection method than swabs. But equally safe.
