Oxford coronavirus vaccine, adverse reaction in a volunteer: AstraZeneca suspends tests

[ad_1]

AstraZeneca Pharmaceutical Group announced a global suspension of clinical trials for its investigational covid-19 vaccine as complications arise in a program participant. The group, associated withOxford University, made it known that the protocol was fired in front of a potential adverse reaction and that, therefore, the suspension was decided autonomously to allow the appropriate controls by an independent commission.

A shutdown that occurs approximately one week after the announcement of thedefinitive agreement of the company with the European Commission: agreement in which, as confirmed by the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza, it is written that the first doses, if it is confirmed that the vaccine is safe, will already be available late 2020.

As for the role of Italy, it was precisely the alliance with France, Germany and the Netherlands that allowed the EU to move towards strong acceleration compared to having a vaccine as soon as possible.
