Dawn raid between the provinces of Reggio Calabria, Milan and Verona. Operation of the carabinieri of the provincial command of Reggio, in execution of precautionary measures of custody against numerous people accused, for various reasons, of being part of two associations aimed at illicit drug trafficking, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated personal injury, attempted extortion, possession illegal and carrying weapons, receiving stolen goods.
Organizations, based on the Sbarre district of Reggio Calabria, had started a thriving trading business, also with branches in Veneto, and with connections to the local ‘Ndrangheta.
There are 19 precautionary measures issued by the investigating judge at the request of the Reggio Calabria anti-mafia district leadership, which identified the two criminal organizations involved in drug trafficking. The investigations are coordinated by Attorney General Giovanni Bombardieri and DDA Deputy Prosecutor Walter Ignazitto.
Of the 19 suspects, 17 ended up in prison while for two the investigating judge ordered the precautionary measure of the obligation to present.
The names of those arrested: Luigi Chillino, born in Reggio Calabria on 08/05/1985; Anouar Azzazi, born in Casablanca (Morocco) on 8/22/1984, detained in the Cosenza prison; Andrea Foti, born in Reggio Calabria on 15.5.1981; Imaddin Sellak, born in Reggio Calabria on 4.1.1999, detained in the Reggio Calabria prison; Gabriele Foti, born in Reggio Calabria on 2.10.1992, detained in the Reggio Calabria prison; Stefano Foti, born in Reggio Calabria on 1.7.1972; Demetrio Foti, born in Reggio Calabria on 3.1.1994; Vincenzo Gallo, born in Reggio Calabria on 19.1.1989, placed under house arrest in Reggio Calabria; Carmelo Gatto, born in Reggio Calabria on 01/27/1989; Pasquale Idone, born in Reggio Calabria on 7/28/1989; Antonino Frosinone, born in Reggio Calabria on 12/26/1993; Anas Amrani, born in Isola della Scala (VR) on May 28, 1998; Giuseppe Chillino, born in Reggio Calabria on March 19, 1965; Antonio Sarica, born in Reggio Calabria on 11/28/1988; Andrea Pennica, born in Reggio Calabria on 8.12.1998; Gianluca Mirisciotti, born in Reggio Calabria on 11/14/1989; Alessandro Larocca, born in Reggio Calabria on 12.6.1993.
