LECCE – Less positive, but also fewer swabs and the result, substantially, does not change: it is the ratio between the two factors, in fact, equal to 2.6 percent that suggests keeping our guard against the spread of the Sars CoV 2 epidemic in Puglia.
The September 7 bulletin reports 43 new confirmed cases out of 1,649 registered swabs (as usual, below the weekly average because it refers to Sunday laboratory activities). Currently the positive cases are now 1,197. Only one swab was positive for the province of Lecce, 22 in the Bari area, 14 in the province of Foggia and 6 in Bat. Two deaths (Bari and Foggia) bringing the number of victims to 565. Eleven more were hospitalized (173), but also healed (4,137). Seven places are occupied in intensive care, one less than the previous report.

In absolute value, with regard to the cases identified with the detection activities, Puglia ranks third (9,288 for Lombardy, 3,848 for Veneto, regions that, however, have had many more cases – 101 thousand and 24 thousand – and therefore it examined many more citizens – respectively around one million in the first and 643 thousand in the second), but it is the first in relative values: 64.65 percent of Covid cases arose with detection. In fact, it is the only region where, taking the total number of confirmed cases, more than half were found with screening and not with diagnostic swabs. The region that comes closest to the result of Apulia is Lazio, with 43.13 percent.
