Crotone – Brutally murdered while trying to defend the child who had been entrusted to him. Teresa Scavelli, 46, is a woman originally from Cotronei in the province of Crotone, the nanny killed after being repeatedly beaten by blunt force on Wednesday, September 2, in St. Gallen, in German-speaking Switzerland.
According to the reconstruction of the cantonal police, the incident occurred around lunchtime. A 22-year-old Swiss citizen broke into the house and attacked Teresa Scavelli and the owner of the house. After the alarm, the intervention of the agents, who arrived when the 46-year-old was still alive and thus ordered the attacker to stop. The latter, however, ignored them and continued to rage at the woman. They couldn’t avoid firing, killing the attacker. Teresa Scavelli was then transferred to the city hospital, where she died a few hours later, due to a very serious head injury.
The mayor of Cotronei, Nicola Belcastro, has already announced that he has taken steps to provide the woman’s family, who leaves behind a husband and three children, all legal assistance.
