Killed with kicks and punches, also hit on the head. Left lifeless on the asphalt. His fault? Having defended a friend of his shortly before. Four young men were arrested for the murder.
Litigation with a tragic ending on the night between Saturday and Sunday in front of a club in Colleferro (Rome).
Willy Monteiro Duarte, a 21-year-old Italian of Cape Verdean origin who lived in Paliano with his parents who owned a farm, died from the beatings received in the street by some of his companions.
The four young detainees, between 22 and 26 years old, were located and captured in the vicinity of Artena, where they had fled in a large motor. They have a police record, including two brothers who practice MMA, a combat sport that uses multiple forms of martial arts. They are charged with manslaughter.
THE FACTS – The tragedy took place at 3 in the morning. As reconstructed by investigators, Willy was punished because he had defended a friend from school shortly before. He had intervened while his friend was arguing over a girl with one of the detainees, separating the contestants. After a few minutes, the 21-year-old was joined by the four who beat him. Two other companions, witnessing the scene, intervened to defend Willy. Wounded too, they will heal in about ten days. The rescue for the 21-year-old, who arrived at the hospital already dead, was futile.
Thanks to the testimonies collected, the carabinieri located and arrested the four perpetrators: Francesco Belleggia, 23, Mario Pincarelli, 22, and the brothers Gabriele and Marco Bianchi, 25 and 24. They are all in Rebibbia prison.
THE Mourning – Today it is a city of mourning in Colleferro and Paliano. “Discomfort and despair. This is how our city feels for the loss of our Willy, a splendid boy who found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. The entire city huddles around the family and shares their immense grief.” , we read on the Facebook page of the municipality of Paliano.

“IT CAN BE AVOIDED” – “You cannot die at 21 like that. Everyone knew those two brothers here. For two years they have been fighting and hitting in the same way, they have been the authors of other beatings.” To tell Alessandro, a friend of Willy’s, the boy killed in Colleferro, he arrived at the scene of the 21-year-old’s attack. “I had a fight with one of them a few months ago because he annoyed a friend of mine – he adds – The anger is that it is not the first time they do it. It could have been avoided.”
