PALERMO – A 40-year-old woman died at her home in the area of the Polyclinic hospital. An acquaintance called the 118 health workers. The police and the coroner also intervened. The victim then tested positive for Coronavirus. The ASP of Palermo is carrying out containment interventions and isolating those who have had contact with the woman.
NEW CASE IN VILLA SOFIA. New case of Covid in the Villa Sofia hospital. A woman admitted to the brief intensive observation in the emergency room tested positive after two swabs. The patient had had a negative first swab, but the lung CT scan results indicating bilateral pneumonia caused doctors to be cautious. The second swab was positive.
During the night, all the patients were taken out to sanitize the premises. Swabs were placed for all personnel who came into contact with the patient. The woman was transferred to the Brain. It is the third case in a few days in Villa Sofía: one case occurred in Neurology, a migrant tested positive after three negative tests and another in Maxillofacial Surgery. The company’s management has already ordered the suspension of patient visits.
POSITIVE ALSO AN AMAP EMPLOYEE. An Amap employee, with the duties of a shift worker at the water purifier coming out of the Jato reservoir, tested positive on the Covid swab. The result was communicated to the company last night. The employee tested negative on serology but had flu symptoms and decided to get a swab, which tested positive.
As a precaution, considering 15 days ago, employees who shared work shifts with the positive worker were identified as of August 14, based on timestamps, even for a few hours. The company, both through the protocol with Asp and through the use of private laboratories, intends to subject all employees to a swab, starting with those who work in contact with the public and who serve strategic areas.
