Grossetana, 23, employed in a Milan hospital, Alessia Bonari | He graduated in 2018 from Siena and on March 9 he shared a photo on Instagram with his face stained by red marks left by a too narrow mask. A snapshot shared in a moment of frustration, in the days when the first Covid patients began to arrive at the hospital, in which she urged not to frustrate the efforts of those, like her and all the health personnel, were compacting themselves against the virus and fear.

“I am a nurse and right now I am facing this health emergency. I am also afraid, but not of going shopping, I am afraid of going to work. I am afraid because the mask may not adhere well to my face, or that I was accidentally touched with dirty gloves, or that the lenses did not completely cover my eyes and something happened. “I’m physically tired because my protective gear hurts, the gown makes you sweat and once I’m dressed I can’t go to the bathroom or drink for six hours. I am psychologically tired, and like me they are all my colleagues who have been in the same conditions as me for weeks, but that will not prevent us from doing our work as we have always done. I will continue to attend and take care of my patients, because I am proud and in love with my work.
