Another more tragic day in the mountains of Brescia. A 17-year-old girl, Veronica Copeta, she died falling in a ravine for a hundred meters while, with his family, he walked the path that leads to Lake Aviolo, in the area between Edolo and Vezza d’Oglio. The sudden and devastating tragedy took place a few minutes after noon. The victim lived in the Violin village of the city.

As reconstructed by Breno carabinieri, the young girl, who I would have turned 18 in two weeksHe was following his mother, father and twin sister on the path that leads from the Alla Cascata refuge to Lake Aviolo when, at an altitude of 1600 meters, he suddenly tripped. All this happened in one of the few exposed sections of the route and the girl ended up in a ravine, falling about a hundred meters and violently hitting the rocks.

Immediately the rescue was activated, the Sondrio helicopter identified the body of the girl and lowered the doctor with the winch, who could not avoid noting the death. The mountain rescue and the Guardia di Finanza reached the family and took them to the Edolo base camp, where they also took Verónica’s body. The police quickly ruled out any third party responsibility and the body was returned to the family.
