The dramatic news that shocked the city and especially his many friends and acquaintances, who learned of his death only during the week while the body remained kidnapped in the Ospedali Riuniti morgue awaiting the autopsy. Francesco Tropea was the son of one of the most prominent families in the city: his parents had adopted him together with his sister when they were very young, from Mexico, with the noble intention of giving him a better life. They did: perfectly inserted in the social context of Reggio, Ciko frequented the southern curve of Reggina and worked in a Chinese shop in via Padova where he stood out for his friendliness and good humor. He had gone down to Calamizzi to swim last Friday afternoon, when bathers found him already dead on the beach. The rescue was useless: it is presumed that he was ill while he was at sea, the relatives await the result of the autopsy. This morning at the Duomo I had a crowded and moving funeral with the last farewell to the great little Ciko, always in the heart of her beloved South Curve and the entire city.
