First case of coronavirus in Italian schools: A high school student from Rome, enrolled in the last year of the Marymount International School in Rome, tested positive for Covid-19.
According to ASL Roma 1, 60 classmates and teachers who have come into contact with the young man are in preventive isolation. Students will reportedly follow the lessons with distance learning.
The alarm was raised by the school principal, who warned the students’ parents. ASL Roma 1 has announced that it will wait seven days before taking the swab to the students, in order to evaluate the possible appearance of symptoms.
Marymount International School is a Catholic peer school located in the north of the capital. Being a private school, the lessons started on a different schedule than the other institutes.
