The Cathedral of Brescia was filled yesterday bylast goodbye to Giuseppe Amato, the 52-year-old lawyer, fulfilled on August 9, struck down by a heart attack last Sunday while on a boat in Croatia on vacation with his wife and daughters.

Touching the image of the two girls who, upon the arrival of the hearse, held by their mother Laura, did not take their gaze from their father’s pale coffin for a moment. To them in particular and to the entire family of the civil lawyer the many people present in the Cathedral of the city. Friends still in shock, after the news of the fatal illness, arrived late Sunday afternoon. “Each of us has a memory of Beppe, a testimony, an episode that we will never forget. However, every word, every sign today is insufficient. Especially in the face of such a death ”, the priest acknowledged during the homily.

Today we all have a veil of suffering that takes the light from our eyes, but prayer can help. Graduated in Law in Pavia in 1992, Giuseppe Amato had been a lawyer since 1997 following in the footsteps of his parents. An expert in corporate and bankruptcy law, he had discovered his passion for teaching and was an adjunct professor of private law at the University of Brescia. “You were a certainty, a guide, a point of reference,” said a colleague, reading a message on behalf of all the lawyers and collaborators of the Amato firm. “We will miss – he added – his professionalism, his leadership and his magnetic charisma, as well as his enthusiasm and his overwhelming sympathy.”
