Like all mayors, I feel the weight of my country and my community on my shoulders, in a particularly complex economic and social situation; not only because of the position I hold, but also because of the work I do in health care and because of my sense of protection towards all my loved ones and the citizens that I now represent ”.

An invitation not to lower your guard

The mayor’s reflection continues: “Unfortunately, I have the impression that with the passage of time, thanks to the exhaustion of what seemed to us a forbidden freedom, but in reality we have never lacked, the problem has been underestimated and we are used to dangerous routines. I am convinced that there are many who think opportunistically, thinking only of the convenience of the moment, but now more than ever we must treasure what we have faced. I hope it is clear to everyone that Covid exists and that We are dying from Covid. Furthermore, this virus has shown us that it does not look at anyone ”.

First Communion

The First Communion ceremony is scheduled for Sunday. The mayor made a preventive maneuver: “I considered it necessary to contact the AUSL Public Hygiene Service, from where I was available to rub all the children who will receive the Sacrament. Since the hyssop will be voluntarily, I announce, according to our parish priest Don Massimo, that those who do not take the test, which is free, will not be able to participate in the ritual, to protect other children.. Taking note of the evolution of the situation and considering that the religious function will be followed by moments of coexistence where large gatherings could be created without having the control of all the participants, as a local health authority, in order to guarantee maximum protection of the city, I strongly urge you to avoid receptions, lunches, parties and gatherings. I believe that health comes first and as mayor, scrupulously, I feel obliged to put into practice all actions aimed at maximum security and citizen security.

The ceremony will take place, the mayor continues, “as I have assured that all precautions will be taken to combat Covid, while I reiterate that everything else must be completely avoided. Although the party is part of a day of great importance For children and their families, within an emergency context of this type, they are intransigent and I reiterate conscientiously avoiding meetings and situations of promiscuity in public places. Everyone must be aware of their behavior and be responsible for the consequences that may derive from it. Therefore, I hope the maximum collaboration of all and I take this opportunity to wish the children the serenity of this day that I hope will accompany them throughout their lives ”.
