Genoa. Summer is ending and there may be one at the door whenever the rainy season begins, whose debut is expected next week: the collision of hot and cold masses will generate a first cyclonic vortex that “will bounce ”in the Mediterranean, generating even intense storms in almost all parts of our country, including Liguria and Genoa.
And the first trip will be only for our region., which in these days has already been able to savor the power of summer storms, which, in addition to the classic “refreshment”, have reminded us of the speed of our reservoirs and their potential.
Forecasting models, in fact, follow the genesis of a probable great Atlantic cyclone that is about to cross the extreme north of Europe, with transitions from Iceland to the Baltic, and with some probable appearance, although peripheral, in the north of Scotland. To the south, the anticyclone of the Azores, which tends to “block the road” of the Mediterranean area on the fronts of depression, could be swept further north, leaving an open ebb passage to some low pressure peaks, which could cause the collision of the cold Atlantic currents with the heat of the Mediterranean, a sea that occurs with summer temperatures.
From the intersection of these factors, a low pressure vortex could be trapped between a high pressure “crown”, bouncing here and there in the Mediterranean area, creating some concern for any localized but potentially intense phenomenon. Monday, a forecast that will obviously be confirmed in the coming days, it could be a day of heavy rain in Genoa and Tigullio, with a rapid cold front that will cross our region and then discharge beyond the Apennines. Apart from the rain, there will be days of strong thermal decline, with a summer that could close, therefore, a couple of weeks before. It’s hard to say what fall could be, but if a good day starts in the morning …
