The hiker fell down the Moregallo ridge trail
Alpine rescue on site and helicopter rescue
VALMADRERA – Tragic accident on the mountain in the early morning of Thursday, September 3. A hiker lost his life in Moregallo. He is an 82-year-old man from Caronno Pertusella, in the Varese area
The alarm went off shortly before noon. According to what has been learned, it seems that the hiker was walking along the Moregallo ridge path (the one that goes up from Preguda, ed) when, at the top, he would have fallen. The friend who was with him raised the alarm.
Immediate intervention of the rescuers: the helicopter was transferred to the scene from Bergamo while from the ground the Larian Triangle station of the Alpine Rescue activated a team that approached the Sev Refuge, in Pianezzo, in support of the rescue by helicopter.
After a few flyovers, the hiker was spotted in trouble. Once they reached rescuers, they couldn’t help but find out the death. The body was recovered.
