Municipal elections in Reggio Calabria, the survey carried out by Fabbrica Politica for StrettoWeb highlights sensational surprises in voting intentions: great consensus of opinion for Angela Marcianò and Klaus Davi

In a situation of great confusion due to political fragmentation and the consequent uncertainty regarding the municipal elections of Reggio Calabria, the only Metropolitan City called to vote on September 20 and 21, six years after the last municipal elections, StrettoWeb today exclusively publishes the only official survey carried out so far for the important Calabrian electoral appointment. The survey, conducted by Political factory by StrettoWeb (for more details, see methodological note at the end of the article), confirms some already known aspects but also offers sensational surprises about Reggio’s “match”.

Here, in fact, is the main table with the voting intentions of the interviewees:

In light of these voting intentions, the vote: it would be the first time in the history of Reggio Calabria.

The outgoing mayor, Giuseppe Falcomatà, is confirmed in great difficulty: it remains in first place in preferences, but under the 31% therefore without the possibility of winning in the first round, and with consensus exactly half compared to six years ago when he was chosen with him 61% of votes.

Salvini minicuciThe candidate of the center-right also has great difficulties, Antonino Minicuci, strongly supported by Salvini: slightly exceeds 19% and it is even in third place. Obviously his being a “foreigner” and especially the shadow of the Northern League Salvini At his choice, with a method that nobody in the city liked, they are penalizing him heavily. A perfect suicide for the coalition that pushed just 7 months ago Jole santelli governor of the Region, obtaining in the city of Reggio Calabria only more than 58% preferences and that a little over a year ago in the European elections reached 47% of votes. There was a wave in favor of the center-right, all the more given the advantage that the opposition position gives to Falcomatà, but the methods of election of the candidate and the figure on which the leader of the Northern League did not want to listen to the resistance that was coming. from its base. They have evidently squandered a consensus that gave the coalition for political logic the ultra favorite in the race for Palazzo San Giorgio. It was the only coalition that, by identifying the right profile for the candidacy, could have elected the new mayor in the first round. And instead, you risk ending up off the ballot.

Angela MarcianòThe big surprises are Angela Marcianò me Klaus David. Any of the people in the city knew that they had a great consensus of opinion. The affection for them is palpable, but few believed that they even got to play the ballot box. Instead, it looks like this: 21.5% by Angela Marcianò, 16.6% by Klaus David.

Among other candidates, a good one 4.7% by Saverio Pazzano while disappointing the candidate of the 5 Star Movement Fabio Foti Alabama 3.2%. Below threshold Fabio Putortì, which comuqnue is close to the fateful 3% and is totally in tune with the 2.6%, and especially Maria Laura Tortorella (1.3%) e Giuseppe Siclari (0.3%).

Pay attention, however, to the answers: the 38% declares that he does not want to vote (six years ago the turnout was 65%, so 35% had decided not to vote), but especially the 32% he claims he is still undecided. So in these two and a half weeks that separate us from the vote, a lot can still change.

To interpret these data and especially to understand how these percentages can change during the key weeks of the electoral campaign, the other tables of the survey in popularity enjoyed by candidates in the city and in trust that places citizenship in each of them:

That Falcomatà both the most popular seems obvious. It has been known since 92% of those interviewed, practically all or almost all. IT IS’ Mayor for six years, also the son of another mayor who has marked the recent history of the city, so the only surprise is that there is a 8% of respondents who say they do not know it.

Among others, the most popular is Klaus David which however is known only by 48% from Reggio, less than half. Angela Marcianò stops at 46%, Antonino Minicuci Alabama 41%, Giuseppe Siclari Alabama 33% probably also thanks to the candidacies in all the last municipal elections of the last decades, always with the same symbol of the Communist Workers’ Party. The least known is Maria Laura Tortorella, known only for 25% of Reggio voters.

Taking into account the level of popularity, it is very interesting to understand among the people of Reggio who know each candidate, how much trust they place in him:

From this table, we can see how the most popular is Angela Marcianò: have the 39% trusted and known to less than half the people of Reggio. Then there is Klaus David, what does he have 38% trusted third party Falcomatà with the 36%. In fourth place Pazzano Alabama 30%, male Minicuci Alabama 29%, latest Fabio Foti of the 5 Star Movement and Maria Laura Tortorella Alabama sixteen%.

Ma i know Falcomatà practically everyone knows it, one can imagine how difficult it is for the voting intention towards him to change much. Instead yes Angela Marcianò me Klaus David They will be able to make themselves known more in the electoral campaign, becoming more popular, so that they will be able to improve their electoral results in light of the trust that those who already know them place in them.

MinicuciOn the other hand, he seems desperate: little is known, but above all, little is appreciated. So even if it became known a bit more, it still wouldn’t improve its consent.

Finally, we can analyze the voting flows between the European, regional and municipal elections:

Here we also have very interesting data with particularly curious surprises. The electorate that Falcomatà elects has a strong left-wing connotation, but the left is not compact about Falcomatà. In fact, only the 42% of voters in P.S to today’s latest European / regional options Falcomatà. A good 8% of Democratic Party voters choose Angela Marcianò, 6% in others (probably Pazzano). Falcomatà also manages to intercept 14% of the voters of the 5 Star Movement, the same percentage as Angela Marcianò and just above Klaus David.

Minicuciinstead, it is preferred only by 33% of the voters of the Lega, who concentrate 21% of the preferences in Angela Marcianò and 13% in Klaus David.

Even the voters of the Brothers of Italy divide their vote between Minicuci (only 15%), Klaus David (14%) e Angela Marcianò (13%), while those who voted for Forza Italia today mostly choose Minicuci (27%), but also Marched (9%) e David (6%).
