A morning of work like so many others, on the family farm.
What, instead, turned into a tragedy, took the life of a 22-year-old. Cavallermaggiore is incredulous at the news of the death of Davide Gennero. Nobody can be calm with what happened today before 9 am.
The Carabinieri have already compiled some useful elements to determine, in concert with the ASL Cn1 Spresal, the dynamics.
Davide, with his 25-year-old brother Francesco (two of the five children of the owners of the company), was working inside some silos, about forty meters high, full of chopped corn. Those silos clearly visible even from a distance, on which the Gennero family name is located.
Once inside the huge storage container, the two young men were poisoned by the fumes emanating from the corn.
Davide and Francesco experience the first symptoms, until they lose consciousness.
The alarm is triggered and 118, Firefighters, Carabinieri and, later, ASL Spresal intervene in the act. The firefighters also reach the place with the ladder, to reach the top of the silos, dozens of meters above the ground, where the first responders find the two brothers.
For Davide, the rescue will be in vain: the doctors, hurried by both ambulance and helicopter, will be able to do nothing but verify his death. His brother Francesco, however, in very serious condition, is urgently transferred to the Santissima Annunziata in Savigliano.
Born in 1998, born on March 26, Davide dedicated himself to volunteering for the purpose of his fraction. He actively participated in the life of his country. On the net there are snapshots that portray him involved in activities organized by the Pro loco, such as the “Palio dei Borghi”, where he was the standard bearer of his village, Madonna del Pilone.
The memory of the mayor is moved Davide Sannazzaro who this morning, upon learning of the tragedy, went to the place: “I am very saddened personally. Davide was a fair, cheerful and very helpful guy.. A handsome young man. The community of Cavallermaggiore and in particular that of Madonna del Pilone loses an important point of reference. We are close to the whole family”.
A deeply devastated and painful community. And now it squeezes – silently – around the family. In memory of David and in the hope of his brother Francesco.
