The 77th edition of the Venice Film Festival began yesterday, with the opening ceremony, the screening of Laces by Daniele Lucchetti, based on the novel by Domenico Starnone, and the award ceremony of actress Tilda Swinton, one of the first great international actresses to be seen at the festival, with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.
This is the first major film festival to take place after the start of the coronavirus pandemic and therefore preventive measures have been adopted such as control of body temperature, space in theaters, the obligation of masks even during screenings and monitoring of all participants. For this reason, among the people who were worth photographing on the red carpet yesterday, it is common to see masks combined with dresses and suits, or simple surgical masks at hand, or well-spaced group photos. Among the first people worthy of being photographed were Jury Chief Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, Roberta Armani, Laura Morante, and later Dario Franceschini, Elodie and Marracash.
