Unions fear that speed dialing will not fix the situation. According to data from the Uil school, in Campania almost half of the available places will remain empty: more than 2,500 places out of the 4,600 authorized. In Lombardy almost two thousand places in support of middle schools. The fears of the unions
“There is a certain fear” of going back to school “but it is motivated by the uncertainty of communications: mask yes or no, fragile yes or no: all this accentuates the concerns of those who feel threatened from the point of view of health” says the leader of the Uil Scuola, Pino Turi. “These days most teachers meet remotely but problems will explode when they return to service and this is due to a lack of certainties,” he adds. “We need guidelines and rules for fragile workers: managers cannot operate otherwise,” says CISL secretary Scuola Maddalena Gissi. The school world is waiting for a circular that dictates the rules for requesting exemptions. Can the fragile worker work remotely? Can you work with a small group of children? Can he be replaced by a substitute? Are you taking advantage of the illness or do you consider yourself to be in the hospital? These are some of the many questions school leaders ask themselves.
