Another 73 cases of coronavirus in Tuscany. The positivity thus amounts to 11,858 since the beginning of the emergency in the region. Of the 73 most infected, 20 are identified in the course of screening and 53 through detection activities. They represent 0.6% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured increased by 0.02% and reached 9,143 (77.1% of all cases). The tests carried out reached 539,518, 4,438 more than yesterday. The current positives are 1,574 today, + 4.7% compared to yesterday. There are no new deaths.
These in summary are the data – verified today at 12 o’clock on the basis of requests from the National Civil Protection and disseminated by the Tuscany Region – related to the progress of the epidemic in the region.
Details of new cases, province by province
The average age of 73 cases today – the report explains – is about 38 years (32% are under 26 years old, 29% between 26 and 40 years old, 25% between 41 and 65 years old, 14% are older 65 years) and, in terms of clinical states, 63% were asymptomatic, 25% pauci-symptomatic.
Of the 73 current positivities, 11 cases may be linked to returns from abroad, of which 1 for vacation reasons (Croatia). 5 cases can be linked to returns from other Italian regions (3 Sardinia, 2 Emilia Romagna). A case referring to a citizen residing outside the region whose positivity was notified in Tuscany. 36% of the cases is a contact linked to a previous case.
The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change compared to yesterday. There are 3,673 cases in total to date in Florence (12 more than yesterday), 623 in Prato (1 more), 825 in Pistoia (1 more), 1,228 in Massa (7 more), 1,536 in Lucca (11 more), 1,066 in Pisa (5 more), 557 in Livorno (5 more), 842 in Arezzo (22 more), 509 in Siena, 485 in Grosseto (8 more). There are 514 positive cases reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions (1 more).
Therefore, there are 14 cases found today in the Central Local Health Authority, 28 in the Northwest, 30 in the Southeast.
Tuscany is confirmed in tenth place in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 318 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average of 444 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Massa Carrara with 630 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Lucca with 396, Florence with 363, Livorno with 166.
Isolations, surveillance, cures, shelters
In total, 1,514 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (64 more than yesterday, 4.4% more).
There are 3,734 (47 more than yesterday, plus 1.3%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance for having had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 1,558, Northwest 1,487, Southeast 689).
The people hospitalized in beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 60 (7 more than yesterday, more 13.2%), 8 in intensive care (3 more than yesterday, more 60%).
In total there are 9,143 people cured (2 more than yesterday, plus 0.02%): 147 clinically cured people (stable compared to yesterday), that is, who were asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection and 8,996 (2 more compared to yesterday, plus 0.02%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.

Today there are no new deaths
Zero new deaths, therefore, the report says, 1,141 deaths since the beginning of the epidemic remain as follows: 417 in Florence, 52 in Prato, 81 in Pistoia, 175 in Massa Carrara, 146 in Lucca, 91 in Pisa, 63 in Livorno, 50 in Arezzo, 33 in Siena, 25 in Grosseto, 8 people died on Tuscan soil but resided outside the region. Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (89.8 x 100 000), Florence (41.2 x 100 000) and Lucca (37.6 x 100 000), the lowest in Grosseto (11.3 x 100,000).
