The decline in coronavirus infections in Italy continues, below 1,000. The increase in the last 24 hours has been 996, compared to 1,365 yesterday (and 1,444 on August 29). Instead, the number of victims increased, six in one day (there were four yesterday, one the day before), for a total of 35,483 deaths. The swabs processed in the last 24 hours are 58,518 (for a total of 8,644,859): less than yesterday, when they were 81,723 (99,108 on August 29)
This is clear from the data of the Ministry of Health and Civil Protection, released today afternoon due to new calculations from August 29 to 31. Calabria reports the following recalculation: the correct number of swabs made on August 30 is 154,919. The Sicilian Region announces that of the 26 positive subjects, 2 are migrants who are invited to the reception centers in Lampedusa and Catania. The Veneto Region announces the following recalculation: the correct number of people cured and home isolation on August 29 is 18,290 and 2,285, respectively; the correct number of people recovered and of home isolation on August 30 is, respectively, 18,399 and 2,286;
Lombardy
In Lombardy, the most affected region, new infections are +135 compared to yesterday, when they were +235. There are 9,866 daily buffers (bringing the total to 1,596,833), down from 12,863 yesterday (18,701 on August 29). The total of deaths amounts to 16,865: +2 compared to yesterday, when they were +3. The number of healed and discharged continues to increase: 76,258 (+10). The number of hospitalized patients increased slightly: 195 (+1), and also that of patients in intensive care: 22 (+2).
Milan continues to be the Lombard province with the highest number of new cases: 54 (yesterday there were 80), of which 30 (yesterday 45) in the city of Milan. They are followed by Bergamo with 19 (yesterday 17) and Brescia with 7 (yesterday 28). No new contagion in the province of Mantua.
Lazio
Of more than 13,000 tampons today in Lazio, 148 cases of these 75 are registered in Rome and zero deaths. A prevalence of return cases is confirmed (around 44%) and cases with links from Sardinia are decreasing (around 34%).
