Verbania, a school reopens but immediately there is a positive in Covid. Institute closed for sanitation

It happened in Verbania, where the director of the ISS Cobianchi, Vincenza Maselli, had to announce the suspension of educational activities “to allow a sanitizing intervention in the premises.”

On the institute’s website, the director explained that the intervention was necessary because “a user who recently entered the institute tested positive for the virus COVID-19“So, adds the manager,” the reopening of the school will be carried out once the sanitation works have been completed and it will be possible to guarantee access with total security. This date will be communicated as soon as possible. “

The procedure adopted by the institute corresponds to those who are i protocols established by the Ministry and published in early August. Among the guidelines, in fact, it is explained that the school must be disinfected and, therefore, the competent ASL must provide for the search contacts of the positive person, be it a student, a teacher or a school worker. Then all close contacts are quarantined for 14 days. Deciding if the entire class belongs to this category is an ASL-dependent choice.

A protocol that, on the other hand, is much smoother if only someone overt symptoms of Covid-19. In this case, in fact, one is basically asked to stay home and contacted the ASL to possibly do a swab. If, therefore, there is a high number of absences (more than 40%, as indicated), the school is requested to contact the ASL to initiate an epidemiological investigation.

the Piedmont it is one of the Italian regions where schools will reopen on September 14, unlike Alto Adige, where it is planned on September 7, and Friuli Venezia Giulia and Sardinia, which are postponed to 16 and 22. The Vercelli institute had already opened its doors as extracurricular courses were being held within the National Operational Program, or an “action plan that aims to create a high-quality education and training system”, as indicated on the Miur website.
