Any system is used to try to make the population aware of proper waste management, and the one found by the mayor of Gerre de Caprioli Michel Marchi is tremendously effective: a video uploaded to his Facebook page in which he explains that the owner has been identified and will be fined.
“On the morning of Friday, August 28 – says Marchi in the video – some neighbors denounced me for the illegal unloading of a large refrigerator in front of the municipal collection center, which was closed at that time. There are also two video surveillance cameras on site.
Thanks to the license plate we traced the owner of the vehicle who committed the offense but, before lifting the penalty, I thought that the situation could not be tolerated excessively, since it is not the first time this has happened. So on the morning of Saturday 29, with our friend Italo Fornasari, we loaded the refrigerator, after having written a dedication on it, and we returned it to its rightful owner, unloading it under the house.
The municipality of residence is not Gerre and for this reason we have notified the command of the local reference police.
I believe that, net of the offense, certain acts can no longer be tolerated, out of respect for people and the environment that surrounds us. There are laws but perhaps, in some cases, they will be of no use if common sense and education were the teachers. “
