TURIN. Storms, hailstorms and strong gusts of wind affected the foothills of the province of Turin in the early hours of the morning today, Sunday, August 30. Among the towns most involved are Piossasco and Cumiana, towards the Pinerolese. In Cumiana roads whitened by hail and some fallen trees at the junction of the village of Tavernette. A tree also fell in Rivoli, in via Montellimar, at the foot of the Castle.
In Turin tonight the minimum temperature dropped to 16 degrees, shortly after 8, a violent storm struck which caused little damage only because it lasted about ten minutes. The only two interventions to report: the firefighters called in Corso Brescia for a roof damaged by strong gusts of wind and in Corso Casale for some fallen branches.
In Sestriere, just above the village, at about 2,400 meters, the first snow fell. And jackets and anoraks have appeared on the streets of the town.
Early in the morning the bad weather moved towards the areas of Cuneo and Asti, where mainly rains and hail arrived.
