MILAN. Even the roof of an rsa has fallen, as have destroyed cars, downed trees and uprooted billboards. There is a lot of damage caused by the bad weather that hit Milan last night and tonight, especially in the north and inland areas of the city.

The RSA, the “Geriatric Institute of Milan”, is located in via Arsia, in the Quarto Oggiaro area. The strong wind tore a part of the roof, causing various damage. And for hours, the work of firefighters and rescuers continued to move the collapsed roof plates onto the street and into parked cars. Fortunately, no injuries were reported even inside the structure. For security reasons, explains the president of the Institute, Andrea Blandi, “we have planned the transfer of older guests to the third and last floor of the structure in another of our rsas”. That floor houses a nucleus of thirty-seven people, but yesterday there were only six. “None of them are positive or waiting for a swab. In the structure, in another specially dedicated area, we only have four cases already negative and waiting for the second swab ”.

Bad weather, storm over Milan: RSA roof uncovered due to strong wind

According to the municipality councilor Fabio Galesi, the power of the storm tore the posters and signs in front of the Sacco hospital. The disturbances also occurred in via Lagarina where many trees collapsed cutting the road in two.

Firefighters, technicians from Mm (the company that manages Milan’s water pipes), A2A (electricity) and civil protection work tirelessly. The via Cogne underpass was also flooded, in fact unusable for several hours. Instead, via de Pisis, via Castellammare and via Lessona remained in darkness. The local police intervened in the Villa Scheibler park to delimit the areas at risk of collapse: many plants and large trees were practically split in half by the storm.
