There are 289 new cases of coronavirus in Lombardy, of which 38 are “weakly positive” and nine after serological tests. This is what emerges from reading the daily bulletin published by the Region on Saturday, August 29. There were no new deaths in the last 24 hours and the total number of victims in the region remained at 16,860. The cured are in total 76,200 (+98).

The number of hospitalizations (185, +13) and of patients in intensive care (18, +1) increases. 18,701 smears were made for a total of 1,574,104. Of the new positives, 140 are in the province of Milan (of which 86 in the city), 35 in Brescia, 27 in Monza and Brianza, 18 in Bergamo, 14 in Como, 10 in Varese, 3 in Lodi, 8 in Lecco and Pavía, 5 in Cremona and 7 in Mantua. Sondrio is the only Lombard province without new cases.

“Even on Saturday, August 29, the number of patients healed and discharged (+84) increased in Lombardy. Against 18,701 swabs performed, 289 positives were found. The relationship between the number of new swabs and the positive ones found is 1.54% »explains the note from the Region.

We remind you that the increase in positive cases, in Lombardy as in other regions, must always be related to the number of swabs performed. Without ever forgetting that, if we think in terms of absolute comparisons, the number of inhabitants of Lombardy is equivalent to one sixth of the national population.
