Basic income: the August recharge has arrived for almost everyone and in this sense, from the 20% cut for unspent amounts, the beneficiaries wonder what time the full amount should be spent in order to avoid reductions.
Instructions on how and when to cut the Citizenship Income are indicated in INPS message n ° 2975 of July 28: here we read how at the end of the month following the disbursement the Institute will go to check what’s on the card, making sure that the credited was spent in its entirety as established by law.
In this sense, below you will find a practical example understand when the full amount of the Citizenship Income paid yesterday, Thursday, August 27 should be spent, to avoid the amount being deducted by a maximum of 20% of the monthly benefit value.
Citizenship income paid in August: how much time should be spent?
As specified by the comma 15, article 3, of the decree 4/2019, the income of citizenship “normally used within one month of disbursement“So, since the financial support was paid on Thursday, August 27, you have time until September 30 to spend it all without incurring reductions.
The confirmation comes from the aforementioned INPS message with which it was delivered indications of how the cut will be made. In detail, here we read that the verification of the actual monthly expenditure is carried out in thelast day of every month, when the available balance on the Citizenship Income card will be compared – net of any arrears paid in the current and previous semester – with the value of the benefit owed.
On the other hand, it could not be otherwise that September 30 will also have paid the other month of RdC, which will be spent before October 31 (and so on). To better understand what this message states, here is a practical example.
Practical example
Take as an example a family that yesterday received € 500.00 of Citizen Income. The same amount is paid on September 27, however as of September 30 there is still a € 700.00 credit. This means that only € 300.00 of what was credited in August was spent.
The remaining € 200.00, therefore, will be subject to a reduction that, we remind you, may in no case exceed 20% of the paid benefit.
In this specific case, therefore, the cut – carried out by Poste Italiane with the advice of the INPS – will be € 100.00, that is, 20% of € 500.00. Therefore, as of October 1, 2020, the credit on the RdC card will be € 600.00 and the total amount will be spent at the end of the month.
Let’s say that another € 500.00 of income is paid in October and that on October 31 the the balance of the card is € 600.00 (therefore there is still € 100.00 left not eliminated the previous month). In that case there will be a deduction of another € 100.00 and the balance on November 1 will be € 500.00.
