ROME. “The superticket was abolished and nobody will pay more for it,” writes Health Minister Roberto Speranza on social media. I hope to post a photo with a cross in the reference. It is the 10 euros that patients pay for each prescription for diagnostic services and specialists. “Whenever a person does not take care of himself as he should for financial reasons – says the Minister of Health – we are faced with a defeat for all and a violation of the Constitution. For this reason, in December we approved the law that comes into force on September 1 ».

“Eliminating the health superticket is an important step that we have been waiting for years, and it is also the result of the battles waged by many civic organizations against this tax that had strong effects on citizens,” says Antonio Gaudioso, secretary general of Cittadinanzattiva, an association of citizens who had collected 35,000 signatures with a petition on Change.org asking for the abolition of the superticket, the additional fee of 10 euros on the ticket for specialized health services. The starting measure, adds Gaudioso, “goes in the direction of greater equity” and “eliminates a tax that made public health lose money instead of earning it, because it led more and more people to turn to private health” .
Without brackets
Cittadinanzattiva’s wish is that “the already announced reprogramming of the ticket can also be carried out based on the progressiveness of family income.” Today, in fact, “there is no parenthesis and everyone pays the same. The prerequisite, in this case, must be a true fight against tax evasion ”, concludes Gaudioso.
