ROVIGO – He dies in his sleep, together with her beloved husband, who was waiting for her to have breakfast together, as every morning. So she left at 52 Monica Bassani, who for some years had directed a Cloth store in via Fuà Fusinato, a few steps from the historic center of Rovigo. She leaves her husband Paolo Dazzani, 54, employed in a Modenese textile company, and the children Deborah, 29, Andrea, 22 and Camilla, 19, as well as her mother, sisters, brother and grandchildren. A death that left the Dazzani family with such sadness, but that at the same time made them aware that from today, from up there, there will be an extra guardian angel, watching over them.

«My wife had been running a fabric store for some years – says her husband Paolo, anguished – Then, with the arrival of the economic crisis, the decision came to close everything, to dedicate herself more to her family. She participated in the parish activity of the church of San Francisco, where she also played the role of catechist. We have been married since 1991, but to these 29 years we must add the eight years of commitment. We basically spent a lifetime together, since we met when she was 15 years old, while I was 17. “
In practice, 37 years of life lived together, a very close couple, very active in the parish in the center of the city. “Monica was sick For two and a half years and has tried to the end to fight against an evil that does not forgive – says her husband – She was forced to give up teaching catechism because she had to undergo cancer treatments. She died Thursday morning, in our house in the historic center, in via Boscolo. A feared, yet unexpected farewell. «On Thursday morning, when I woke up, I waited for her to have breakfast together like every day – says Paolo – Since she didn’t get up, I went back to my room, I found her with her eyes closed, she was no longer breathing. I didn’t notice anything during the night. She left without making a sound, she who was such a genuine and good person. Every morning we had breakfast together and we were waiting for her.

The funeral will be held on Monday at 11 am in the church of San Francisco and will be officiated by the parish priest Don Marino Zordan. The funeral procession will depart from the civil hospital of Rovigo and will continue after the rite through the Cremation Garden of Copparo. “I would like to express a more heartfelt and sincere gratitude, on behalf of my entire family, to the staff of the Oncology and Palliative Care department of the Rovigo hospital, who provided an excellent service, both with regard to the oncological part, as well as the of home care ”, concludes Paolo Dazzeni.
