Beaches, phase 2. “Islands” divided by umbrellas: the rules for going to the beach safely

[ad_1]

There should be a distance of 5 meters between the rows of deckchairs and sun loungers, while between the umbrellas it will be necessary to provide 4 and a half meters. Here is the beach at the time of the coronavirus imagined by scientists. The rules have arrived, at the end of the week, the government will discuss them with managers to develop guidelines that in the coming months will allow Italians to go to the beach. Extremely stringent measures that are already sparking protests from bathroom managers, concerned about a crisis in tourism that risks being devastating for those who have little space available and therefore risk not even reaching a balance of costs. Everyone can manage spaces and invent alternative solutions, but there will be no exceptions to some provisions. And the controls of the free beaches will be entrusted to the traffic police and the commissioners. Movement within the region is currently being considered, but in late May, after monitoring the progress of the epidemic curve, serological testing may be sufficient to move from one region to another.

Stations

There are no plexiglass dividers to avoid the greenhouse effect, and not even fences. To keep swimmers from getting too close, just create a kind of island where everyone can sit with loungers or chaise lounges and an umbrella. You will not be able to put the towels on the floor or lie down on the sand. Everyone will have to respect the assigned place when they arrive at the beach and it will be up to the manager to decide if clients are allowed to stay all day or if a double shift should be planned. Certainly, there will be no queues at the entrances and therefore season tickets or reservations over the Internet or by phone will be preferred.

Showers and changing rooms

All fixed structures, such as changing rooms, booths, showers, must be disinfected, but access will not be possible if disinfection has not been provided immediately after each client’s departure. The same hygiene standards must be provided for hammocks and deck chairs, as for all other equipment. It is forbidden to meet and therefore young people must also keep their distance both on the beach and in the kiosks. Disinfectant dispensers should be placed at many points in the plant, but also handwash taps and workers should disinfect.

Takeaway

Restaurants and beach bars must follow the same rules as other public places. And therefore, if it is possible to maintain the space between the tables, customers will be able to sit down, otherwise they will only be able to take the food and consume it near their umbrella. Cleaning services must be constant and guarantee the emptying of the baskets.

Free beaches and rocks

No kind of gathering will be allowed on free beaches or on rocks and therefore in this case you must also keep your distance. Some regions are organizing with drone controls, but local police surveillance may be enough to avoid risky situations.

Bracelets and applications

Once the necessary measures have been established, everyone will organize to make the most of the potential of their territory. On the Lazio coast, some managers are thinking of an app to download on their smartphone to reserve the first free station and a “bracelet” that signals any meeting thanks to an alarm. In Liguria, on the other hand, it was decided to have a considerable number of butlers, people who control access as in stadiums. In Campania, to increase capacity where the beach is narrow or in the most inaccessible places, it is believed to create floating platforms managed directly by the establishments that can accommodate 2/3 people with hammocks and sun protection.

The pools

For those who prefer to go to the pool, the same spacing rules must be followed, as well as the disinfection of bathrooms, changing rooms and showers; but where security is not guaranteed, entry to the facilities will be prohibited.
