A new “premium” Call of Duty game will be released this year, as well as two new IP-based games from Activision.
The news comes from Activision’s last earnings call (via Gematsu), in which the company detailed the “big list of content” to be released in 2020. Accordingly, we can expect “the next premium launch for Call of Duty” and “two IP-based titles from the Activision library “later this year.
A new main Call of Duty game is exciting, if not completely unexpected, but we still have nothing official to indicate what it really will be like. Recent rumors suggest it could be a Black Ops series reboot, which would make perfect sense considering the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot.
However, I am personally even more intrigued by Activision’s two IP-based games. Again, with nothing official in the books, we can only speculate, and I’m eager to pamper myself. Could 2020 see the return of Crash Bandicoot, whose main series hasn’t seen a new release since 2008? Or maybe a new Spyro game will follow from the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
Will the mountains of rumors about a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater sequel prove true? Actually, that is not unlikely. Just today, professional skateboarder Jason Dill unequivocally confirmed that a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater will launch this year. An earlier rumor suggests that the next game in the series could be a sequel and feature five songs by punk band The Death Set.
Regardless of what Activision has up its sleeve for 2020, we are sure to learn sooner and we will keep you updated as we learn more.
Here are the best games of 2020 that we know will definitely come this year.
