7,453 infections and 165 deaths, hospitalizations decrease

Today’s bulletin, Thursday, November 19, with data related to the coronavirus emergency in Lombardy. According to the Region, in the last 24 hours, 7,453 new Covid-19 infections have been reported out of the 37,595 swabs made. Yesterday, the figure was 7,633 positives out of 38,100 swabs. Deaths are on the rise: 165 deaths have been registered since yesterday (they were 182 yesterday). Since February, according to official data, 20,015 citizens have officially died from Covid-19 in Lombardy alone. In total, 3,682,509 swabs were made since the start of the pandemic in the region.

New hospitalized and intensive care patients

The number of patients admitted to hospitals and intensive care continues to grow. In fact, with the increase in infections, the pressure on the hospitals of the regional network also increases. In the last 24 hours, the number of hospital admissions decreased by 32 units, bringing the total to 8,291 (yesterday they were 8,323), while 12 new patients attended intensive care, which therefore reached the figure of 915 units. Fortunately, the number of recovered / discharged patients has also grown considerably, now reaching 172,847: 3,791 people have managed to overcome the disease in the last 24 hours.

In Milan protests in front of San Raffaele: A scandal visits to 450 euros

Protests are mounting in Milan over the legitimate decision of the San Raffaele hospital to offer a home or remote medical examination service. Last night, Wednesday, November 18, several people from the Solidarity Brigade met in front of the Milan hospital offices to challenge the difference in treatment of patients who cannot pay for the care that the Region should guarantee. Amid banners and choruses, the protesters denounced “the scandal of home visits to suspected Covid patients at 450 euros, once again putting profits before the protection of collective health.”
