Unfortunately, the prime minister was right because the data is clearly deteriorating, which even the drastic drop in analyzed swabs cannot hide. In the last 24 hours they have been detected 12,532 infections, 16,035 cured and 448 deaths in just 91,656 tests, with the positivity rate increasing to 13.7 percent. What is especially worrying are the figures from the national health system, on which the pressure has risen again for several days: today the balance of Admissions to Covid rooms is +176 (23,603 beds currently occupied) while that of intensive care is +27 with 168 new entries (2,642 in total), a sign that mortality still has a very strong impact on vacancies. The only good news comes from the vaccination campaign, with 654,362 people receiving the first dose: however, it will be several months before this operation produces visible effects, in the meantime we will have to grit our teeth.
