In Tuscany there are 112,789 cases of Coronavirus positivity, 445 more than yesterday. New cases are 0.4% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured grew by 1.1% and reached 92,117 (81.7% of all cases). The swabs made reached 1,725,291, 7,132 more than yesterday, of which 6.2% were positive. On the other hand, 2,614 subjects tested today (excluding control swabs), of which 17% were positive. To these are added the 496 rapid antigenic swabs that are currently being made. The positives are currently 17,479 today, -3.5% compared to yesterday. There are 1,403 hospitalized (4 more than yesterday), of which 210 in intensive care (9 less). The average age of 445 cases today is about 47 years (16% are under 20, 19% between 20 and 39, 34% between 40 and 59, 22% between 60 and 79, 9% have 80 years or older).

New cases, province by province

The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. To date there are 31,486 cases in Florence (95 more than yesterday), 9,913 in Prato (38 more), 10,002 in Pistoia (51 more), 7,235 in Massa-Carrara (33 more), 11,484 in Lucca (60 more), 15,740 in Pisa (64 more), 7,882 in Livorno (45 more), 10,049 in Arezzo (36 more), 4,557 in Siena (18 more), 3,886 in Grosseto (5 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions.

There are 195 cases found today in the Central Local Health Authority, 191 in the Northwest, 59 in the Southeast.

Tuscany ranks 10th in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with about 3,024 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is about 3,055 per 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Prato with 3,846 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,756, Massa-Carrara with 3,713, the lowest Siena with 1,705.

Quarantines, hospitalizations, cures

In total, 16,076 people are isolated at home, since they present mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not present symptoms (639 less than yesterday, less 3.8%).

There are 27,779 (323 fewer than yesterday, less 1.1%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance for having had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 8,805, Northwest 14,303, Southeast 4,671).

People hospitalized in beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 1,403 (4 more than yesterday, plus 0.3%), 210 in intensive care (9 less than yesterday, minus 4.1%).

The total number of people cured is 92,117 (1,038 more than yesterday, plus 1.1%): 450 clinically cured people (3 less than yesterday, less 0.7%), that is, they were asymptomatic after presenting associated clinical manifestations a Infection and 91,667 (1,041 more than yesterday, plus 1.1%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with a negative swab.

The new deaths

Today there are 42 new deaths: 24 men and 18 women with an average age of 82.4 years.

Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 11 in Florence, 2 in Prato, 5 in Pistoia, 3 in Massa-Carrara, 6 in Pisa, 1 in Livorno, 5 in Arezzo, 3 in Siena, 6 residents outside the Tuscany.

3,193 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 1,107 in Florence, 219 in Prato, 250 in Pistoia, 351 in Massa-Carrara, 285 in Lucca, 355 in Pisa, 233 in Livorno, 184 in Arezzo, 102 in Siena, 72 in Grosseto, 35 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 85.6 x 100,000 residents versus 106.9 per 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa-Carrara (180.1 per 100,000), Florence (109.5 per 100,000) and Pistoia (85.5 per 100,000), the lowest in Grosseto ( 32.5 per 100,000).
