The fight against covid does not stop, even in 2021. And the situation remains critical. On Friday, January 1, against 25,467 swabs, another 3,056 cases were found throughout the Region (803 less than yesterday); the ratio between swabs performed and new positives is 12%. Another 800 people positive for the virus were found between Milan and its interior. The data was disclosed by Civil Protection with the usual bulletin.
In the last 24 hours there have been 13 new admissions to intensive care in Lombardy. However, the total number of occupied resuscitation beds has decreased by two units compared to yesterday, between deceased and recovered patients: now 487 people with severe respiratory failure are admitted to the intensive care units of the regional hospitals. In a single day, the number of beds occupied by less seriously ill patients decreased by 85 units for a total of 3,352. In hospitals in the region there are a total of 3,839 people with SarsCov2 (87 less than on Thursday).
The people who have been negative in the last 24 hours are 2,287; in total, the Lombards that have recovered from the covid are 399,157. The death trail caused by the virus is lengthening. In a single day he killed another 80 people; the total (official) reached 25,203.
