A few seconds after the 2 p.m. chime, the ground shook again in the Alban Hills. The 3.0 magnitude earthquake at the Scala Ricther had as its epicenter the heights between Rocca Priora and Lariano, which today celebrates the 53rd anniversary of Velletri’s autonomy.
According to INGV reports, the earthquake had a magnitude of 3, with an epicenter between Lariano and Rocca Priora, and occurred at a depth of 10 km.
Just 4 minutes later, at 2:04 p.m., the seismographs of the INGV (National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology) registered a second earthquake, this time of magnitude 2.0. A third impact occurred at 14.27, this one at 2.4 on the Richter scale.
Many of our readers tell us that they have felt the impact, from Velletri to Rocca di Papa, but also Genzano, Lanuvio, Nemi, Frascati, Grottaferrata, Monte Porzio, Colonna and other municipalities in the Tuscan area.
Scare for the large number of citizens who felt the impact but, fortunately, there is currently no damage to property or people.
Immediately reassuring messages came from the seismic surveillance center of Civil Protection and the Fire Department: the earthquake that shook several citizens of the Castles, and that was felt even several kilometers away, would not have caused any damage.
The earthquake pushed several people onto the street, fearful of further tremors (two others reported).
