The number of new coronavirus infections in Sicily is constantly growing. The new bulletin from the Ministry of Health says that in the last 24 hours there are up to 285 new cases (on Friday there were 233, an increase of + 52). In his place two people died. There are 387 hospitalized patients with symptoms (+11 compared to yesterday), 35 people in intensive care (data unchanged), 3,721 in home isolation. Forty-one people were healed. On the island, the swabs processed in the last 24 hours were 7,741.

The two new victims bring the total to 335 deaths. The count of the healed amounts to 4,519. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic has risen to 8,997.
The province with the highest number of cases continues to be Palermo (79), followed by Catania (70) and Messina (44). Thirty-one new cases in the Trapani area, 27 in Syracuse and 10 in Ragusa. Twelve cases each in the province of Agrigento and Caltanissetta, while in Ennese there are no cases.

Regarding the situation in Italy, today there are 5,724 new cases and, looking at the last week, we estimate, between Monday and Saturday, 24,165 new infections, 140% more than the average of the last four weeks. The contagion index Rt exceeds the threshold value of 1 in thirteen regions and two autonomous provinces. Campania has the highest value, with 1.24, followed by Sicily with 1.22 and Trento with 1.18. Molise improved with 0.61, Emilia Romagna with 0.84 and Marche with 0.91. The figures for hospitalizations +250 and intensive care +3 are pre-alarm.
