A 25-year-old, Italian of Hungarian origin, was arrested by the Vicenza police after taking hit and kick a 73-year-old man, who had intervened to resolve a dispute between the assailant and his girlfriend. The old man was admitted to the San Bortolo hospital with a femur fracture and suspected head injury. The video shows that the old man first approaches the young man, first punches her and then kicks her in the head, walking away with the woman. The victim was rescued by passersby while the police arrived at the scene, began the search to track down the aggressor, identified within minutes and arrested with the hypothesis of an aggravated injury.

Vicenza Mayor Francesco Rucco’s harsh condemnation for the episode that occurred yesterday in the New Market area where a 25-year-old boy attacked a 73-year-old senior, intervening with the intention of quelling a violent argument between the boy and his girlfriend. «An absolutely reprehensible episode – declares the mayor – that sees as a negative protagonist a person already known to the police for various crimes. I want to express my solidarity with the battered old man and hope that he recovers as soon as possible. I congratulate the men of the State Police who quickly intervened identifying and arresting the aggressor. Episodes like this confirm that something is wrong from the judicial point of view and on the certainty of the sentence ”.
